May 10           Meet Josie, the Therapy Dog
Meet Amy Schneider and her dog Josie, a registered therapy dog since January 2017.  They visit hospitals, nursing homes, schools to bring comfort and smiles to others. Josie has several AKC titles in obedience, tricks, and therapy work. Amy will talk about several types of working dogs — service, emotional support, and therapy — as well as how their jobs and their rights to public access differ under various federal laws. Josie may also be persuaded to perform some of her many tricks!

Original Voice

In honor of Valentine’s Day, Original Voice on February 14 will not
have just one featured reader, but will offer the mic to anyone who
wants to join in a celebration of Love. (The Original Voice is a free
event held at the Coloma Hotel, 132 Main Street, Coloma the second
Wednesday of most months at 7 pm.)

Master of Ceremonies Julie Eger, author of EENY MEENY CRIMINY CROW
(and other books you can easily download from Amazon), will open the
event with a few or her own love poems. Then anyone present can take
the mike to read a couple more. The poems you read need not be your
own–bring a favorite poem by someone else if you like. Come and
share a poem you love about love in today’s chaotic world. The
program will begin at 7 p.m

Origial Voice meetings usually start with a featured guest artist
who shares ideas and inspirations and presents a half hour or so of
his/her own work. This is an opportunity for creative people to
introduce poems, books, chapbooks, or CDs or to try out some new work
on an audience. After the featured guest, the microphone is available
to anyone who wants to take part. Both unseasoned and experienced
performers are urged to make brief presentations: two or three of
their own poems or songs, a short essay, or a couple of pages of prose.

Original Voice is is seeking featured readers for 2018. For more
information or to sign up to read, contact Barb Cranford at (608)
564-7701 or Julie Eger at (920) 572-0429 To take part in the open
mic, no need to sign up, just come.
