Welcome to The Coloma Hotel

Visit the Coloma Hotel ! Historic, but with modern conveniences. Hotels in the “old days” were small and homey. Our hotel has 9 rental rooms with a large living room where guests can visit, a player piano where we can a sing-a-long (the words are on the rolls), and games and puzzles for family fun.

Hike, take the town tour, or bike ride on quiet country roads. Rest in comfort after a day of fun. Enjoy the pub before bed. All rooms are newly remodeled with private baths, refrigerators, coffee makers, HBO, cable, and FREE wireless internet. A guest laundry, microwave, and ice machine are on-site. Every morning, a free continental breakfast with hot waffles is served. Nostalgia and modern conveniences have meshed to provide a great place to relax. 715-228-2401

Original Voice

In honor of Valentine’s Day, Original Voice on February 14 will not
have just one featured reader, but will offer the mic to anyone who
wants to join in a celebration of Love. (The Original Voice is a free
event held at the Coloma Hotel, 132 Main Street, Coloma the second
Wednesday of most months at 7 pm.)

Master of Ceremonies Julie Eger, author of EENY MEENY CRIMINY CROW
(and other books you can easily download from Amazon), will open the
event with a few or her own love poems. Then anyone present can take
the mike to read a couple more. The poems you read need not be your
own–bring a favorite poem by someone else if you like. Come and
share a poem you love about love in today’s chaotic world. The
program will begin at 7 p.m

Origial Voice meetings usually start with a featured guest artist
who shares ideas and inspirations and presents a half hour or so of
his/her own work. This is an opportunity for creative people to
introduce poems, books, chapbooks, or CDs or to try out some new work
on an audience. After the featured guest, the microphone is available
to anyone who wants to take part. Both unseasoned and experienced
performers are urged to make brief presentations: two or three of
their own poems or songs, a short essay, or a couple of pages of prose.

Original Voice is is seeking featured readers for 2018. For more
information or to sign up to read, contact Barb Cranford at (608)
564-7701 or Julie Eger at (920) 572-0429 To take part in the open
mic, no need to sign up, just come.
